Frequently asked questions.

1. Why does Revive Wellness and Physical Therapy operate as a cash-based physical therapy and wellness provider?

At Revive Wellness and Physical Therapy, we believe in providing high-quality, personalized care without the limitations imposed by insurance companies. As a cash-based practice, we are able to spend more time with each client, focus on root causes rather than symptoms, and offer a truly holistic experience. This model allows us to integrate physical therapy, exercise programming, lifestyle coaching, and nutrition into one comprehensive and tailored session.

2. Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider, which means we do not directly bill insurance companies. However, upon request, we can provide a detailed superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual plan.

3. Do you accept Medicare patients?

At this time, Revive Wellness and Physical Therapy is a non-participating provider with Medicare. This means we do not bill Medicare for physical therapy services, and Medicare beneficiaries who choose to receive services from us will be responsible for payment at the time of service. We can work with Medicare beneficiaries for wellness, fitness, and lifestyle coaching services, but cannot provide covered physical therapy services under Medicare rules.

4. How long are the PT and wellness sessions?

Evaluations at Revive Wellness and Physical Therapy are 90 minutes in length and our treatment sessions are 60 minutes. These one-on-one sessions may include manual therapy, exercise, stretching, education, and nutritional or lifestyle coaching based on your individual goals and needs.

5. Do I need a physician’s referral to start physical therapy?

No referral is required to begin care with us, thanks to California's Direct Access Law. California allows patients to see a physical therapist without a physician referral for up to 12 visits or 45 calendar days, whichever comes first. After this period, if continued treatment is necessary, a referral from a physician or provider will be required.

6. What should I wear during the PT and wellness sessions?

Please wear comfortable, athletic clothing and supportive shoes that allow for movement, stretching, and exercise. Clothing such as gym shorts, leggings, t-shirts, and sneakers are ideal. Dress in layers if needed so your therapist can access areas being treated.

7. Will I be exercising during my session?

Yes, most likely. Depending on your needs and goals, your session may include corrective and functional exercises, stretching, movement-based rehab, and strength-building activities. Your physical therapist will guide you through each exercise and adapt the program as needed.

8. How will I be communicated with for exercises and nutritional coaching updates?

We use secure and convenient communication tools such as email, text messages, and digital platforms (e.g., exercise apps, zoom, or client portals) to share your customized home exercise programs and nutrition/lifestyle updates. You’ll receive clear instructions, demonstration videos, and ongoing support to keep you progressing between sessions.

9. How long will my plan of care last?

Your plan of care is highly individualized and will be determined by your physical therapist after your initial evaluation. Factors that influence your plan include your goals, injury history, progress, and commitment to your home program. Some clients may work with us for just a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing wellness and performance coaching over several months.

10. I have completed my plan of care, do you offer a continuity membership program?

Yes, at Revive Wellness and Physical Therapy our goal is to create a community of members who exercise together and share their health and wellness journey together. We offer monthly group exercise classes led by a physical therapist.

11. Do I need a gym membership or exercise equipment to be successful in my physical therapy or wellness program?

No, you do not need a gym membership or any specific exercise equipment to succeed in your program at Revive Wellness and Physical Therapy.

We tailor each exercise and wellness plan to your unique situation—whether you're working out at home, outdoors at a park, or in a fully equipped gym. Our goal is to meet you where you are and design a plan that fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

If you're starting with no equipment, we can create effective bodyweight and movement-based programs that still deliver excellent results. If you do have access to a gym or home equipment, we’ll incorporate that into your plan. And if you're interested in building a small home setup, we’re happy to recommend affordable and effective equipment to support your goals.
